Tweet in style

November 24th, 2008

Almost exatcly one year ago I tested Twitter for the first time, had quite fun, but even so gave up several tweets later. Now with adaptcha I gave Twitter a second chance. Hopefully this time I keep it up a bit longer ;-) Anyway, what I would like to write about in this post are the desktop tools available for Twitter, especially the possibility to tweet with Quicksilver.

I have looked at Twhirl and Twitterrific, two desktop apps. First, they display your friend’s tweets and second, they let you write your own tweets within the desktop. Both apps are quite similar and fulfil their function but writing tweets is only a little bit easier then using the twitter website itself. Well, is there a better solution? Yes, there is! Tweet with Quicksilver! It’s easy, quickly and never in your way nevertheless always accessible.

The solution is simple and I have found and set it up last year already: Coda Hale has written a simple  script. Follow his instructions and you’re ready for the following:

Cmd + Space, period, type your tweet, tab, tweet, enter

That’s so simple and just fantasic. First it looks a bit complicated but the big advantage is that you don’t have to leave your keyboard :-D Try it out, I’m sure you’re excited and won’t use anything else for twittering.

The other mentioned apps are still useful to read your friend’s tweets. However I don’t open them at the moment and just visit twitter.com.

We’re online!

November 19th, 2008

We’re very excited to open up our blog and website! This marks a very important point in our timeline. For over half a year we have been developing, planning our business and staying under the radar and today we’re so near to the initial release of our first version. Of course it’s only our closed beta, but even so this is an exciting moment. It’s the first time we really get in touch with real users. Before all people with we discussed our idea, demoed or showed the product have been friends. Now, it’s time for the plain truth ;-)

Our blog gives us the possibility to get in touch with users and clients directly, to write about our product, our business in general and how it develops. About technology and other topics related to adaptcha.

We hope you enjoy reading our blog as we do writing it ;-)

Best whishes to all our readers, future users and clients!
